FALMOUTH MARINE SCHOOL: STRATEGIC DEVELOPMENT FUND PROJECT

BUILDING SUSTAINABLE FUTURES

Consultancy with Falmouth Marine School to support their Strategic Development Fund project “Building Sustainable Futures.” It is a real pleasure to be back working with an organisation with whom I share so many common goals. With the opportunity to contribute to an innovative Marine Sustainability focused project, whose outcomes fit so seamlessly with the strategy and aims of THE OM.
Through their involvement in this project, FMS will support capacity building and employer engagement activities to develop new approaches to Building Sustainable Futures for the local economy, maritime careers and education, with a particular emphasis on their institutional specialisms in marine engineering.  Delivering innovative, sustainable training and knowledge-sharing; employing cutting-edge technology to find sustainable solutions for the maritime sector. Driving research into the creation and embedding of sustainable models of delivery, to underpin all curriculum development at the college, including the utilisation of virtual and augmented reality and digital learning technologies to enhance the learning experience. Inclusive within the project is our shared and continued aim to build future proof engineering training for the evolving maritime, renewable energies and superyacht sectors.

IAMI/GUEST PROGRAM: BRANDING WEBSITE AND SOCIAL MEDIA

THE OM recently completed a rebrand project for the GUEST Program, collaborating with Joey Meen GUEST Director and Graphic Designer @alisha__designs and developed a new website concept. We are currently building on that new branding with a new approach to messaging and imagery to spread awareness via social media with a series of posts based around building understanding of IAMI/GUEST and its history and programs, and the transition to its new remit as “The recognised Yacht Qualification Body for Non Mandatory Training and Professional Development”. As a governing body we were keen to retain a level of gravity, but also have a fresh more appealing and accessible approach, in the aim to appeal to a much broader audience. That potential audience consists of a wide group of targets from entry level through to senior and experienced crew across all departments, training providers, and the industry itself in all its breadth. Work on the website will be completed to first stages by March.
